SHELL ARTS COMPANY, INC. produces Capiz shell items in many shapes. Capiz shells are bi-valve seashells found in Philippine waters. These shells are hand-picked from the bottom of the sea surrounding the islands. 

The shells go through a series of cleaning whereby all debris are removed, then baked in ovens in order to mold them. Then the shells are whitened by soaking in chemicals which makes them white and soft.

The shells are molded into shapes, then designs and colors are applied.

Lamination process follows using a high polymer resin which has passed the tests for allowable lead and cadmium.  The finish is food safe and heat resistant.
